Women's Basketball: Bison Back in the Win Column after Defeating Fighting Scots, 77-52

Marietta, Ohio – The Bethany College women's basketball team is back in the win column after defeating the College of Wooster, 77-52, inside the Ban Johnson Arena Thursday afternoon.

GAME FLOW

  • Freshman Lindsey Garrison scored the first nine points for the Bison.
  • The Bison took an 11-3 lead in the first seven minutes of the game.
  • The Fighting Scots used an 8-0 run to knot the game at 11-11 with under three minutes to go in the first stanza.
  • A pair of Kelsie Meintel free throws gave the Bison back the narrow lead, 13-11.
  • The Bison rebuilt their lead to 17-13 after buckets from Ashleigh Wheeler and Kelsie Meintel.
  • As time expired in the first quarter, Wheeler nailed a shot from behind half court to give the Bison a seven point lead heading into the second stanza.
  • Makenzee Mason ended a Fighting Scot 8-0 run with 5:20 left to go in the half.
  • Bethany and Wooster continued to battle in the second quarter. The Bison regained a narrow 36-35 lead after Mason hit 1-of-2 from the charity stripe.
  • With under thirty seconds left in the first half, Courtney Walker helped build the Bison lead to 39-35 after completing an old-fashion three point play.
  • Bethany held a 39-37 lead heading into the break.
  • The Bison extended their lead to 59-46 while outscoring the Fighting Scots 20-9 heading into the final quarter of play.
  • The Green and White maintained momentum and a strong lead to seal a 77-52 victory over the Fighting Scots.
