Women's Basketball: Fourth Quarter Surge Pushes Bison Past Wolverines

Bethany, W. Va. – Bethany College women's basketball grinded out a 73-70 win over the Grove City Wolverines inside Hummel Field House Saturday afternoon.

GAME FLOW

  • After a low scoring first half, the Bison and Wolverines turned on the offense.
  • After the first quarter Grove City led 19-15.
  • Both teams had a low scoring second stanza, scoring 11 points each.
  • At the half, the Bison trailed 30-26.
  • After trailing by 15 points in the third quarter the Bison gained momentum to cut the lead to five heading into the fourth quarter.
  • Makenzee Mason knotted the game at 59-59 with two minutes left in regulation.
  • Thirty seconds later Lindsey Garrison hit a three to give the Bison the lead.
  • Grove City battled to cut the lead one after a pair of free throws with under 1:30 to go.
  • Bethany pulled away hitting four free throws and a fast break layup from Mason.
  • The Bison finished the game on a 14-3 run.
