Women's Basketball: Slow start hinders Bison

BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College women's basketball suffered a 72-56 loss to Grove City College inside Hummel Field House Tuesday evening.

GAME FLOW

• After an early Ashleigh Wheeler jumper to give the Bison a 2-0 lead, the Wolverines would go on an 18-0 run to take a dominate lead over the Bison. Bethany would score their second bucket at the 1:46 mark, after Wheeler hit another jumper.
• Grove City led 25-5 after the first quarter.
• The Wolverines extend their lead, 47-18 at the half.
• In the second half, the Bison outscored the Wolverines 38-25 but the deficit from the first half was too much to overcome.

IN THE BOX SCORE

• Makenzee Mason led the Bison with 17 points.
• Sophie Morey led the Bison with 13 rebounds (8 offensive) and added eight points.
• Lindsey Garrison led the Bison with six steals.

• Grove City shot 53.6% from the field and held Bethany to 32.3%.
• The Wolverines edged the Bison on the boards, 35-32.
