Women's Basketball: Bison comeback falls short to Lions
ERIE, Pa. – A commanding third quarter was the difference in Tuesday's non-conference matchup between Bethany College women's basketball and Penn State Behrend. The Bison would fall short to the Lions, 77-71.
GAME FLOW
- Behrend led Bethany, 12-3 to start the game. Bethany chipped away to cut the deficit, 18-15 after the first quarter.
- The Bison held momentum in the second quarter, outscoring the Lions, 23-17. Alyssa Serensky scored nine points, with two three's to help propel the Bison to the lead at half time.
- Bethany led 38-35 at the halftime break.
- In the third quarter, the Bison held the slim lead over the first six minutes. The Lions regained the lead after chipping away at the 2:33 mark of the third quarter. After exchanging buckets back and forth, the Lions scored the final seven points of the stanza to take a 59-52 lead.
- The fourth quarter, the Bison attempted to comeback, but the Lions were able to maintain the slim lead over the Green and White and pull out the win.

- Alyssa Serensky led the Bison with 22 points shooting 4-of-6 from behind the arc. She pulled down seven rebounds.
- Makenzee Mason and Bella Skobel scored 11 points apiece. Mason pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and had five assists.
- Lindsey Garrison and Sophie Morey added 10 points.

- Bethany went 22-of-29 from the charity stripe including an 11-for-14 in the final quarter. Behrend went 22-of-29 from the charity stripe on the game.
- Behrend shot 44.3% from the field while holding Bethany to 35.0%.
- The Bison hit seven threes and out rebounded the Lions, 41-35.
