Hunkins establishes new school mark at BW Mid-February Meet

BEREA, Ohio (Feb. 10) - Sophomore Jordan Hunkins (Zanesville, Ohio/West Muskingum) established a new school-record in the shot put, as members of the Bethany College track & field team competing in the Baldwin Wallace Mid-February Meet Friday night.

Hunkins finished second at the event with a throw of 14.29 meters (46 feet, nine inches), recording a school-record in the process.

Sophomore Leighanna Frantz (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool) registered a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing four feet, nine inches, while junior Ashley Borsch (Richmond, Ohio/Edison Local) finished sixth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.27 seconds.

Freshman Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va./Fishburne Military), the reigning PAC Field Athlete and ECAC Rookie of the Week, cleared 1.80 meters (5 feet, 10.75 inches) to earn second in the high jump, while junior Donald Bierhals (Cabot, Pa./Knoch) claimed fifth place in the one mile run with a time of four minutes, 44.55 seconds.

The Bison track & field team will return to competition on Saturday, February 18 when they head to Gambier, Ohio for the Kenyon Last Call event.
