MEADVILLE, Pa. (May 12) – Members of the Bethany College Track & Field Teams competed at the 12th Annual Gator Invitational hosted by Allegheny College Friday afternoon in the hopes of improving their marks and times with the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and NCAA Championships approaching later this month.

Freshman Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va./Fishburne Academy) claimed a second-place finish in the long jump with a personal-record. He established a mark of 6.85 meters (22 feet, 5.75 inches) on his sixth and final attempt to eclipse his previous season-best mark of 6.84 meters, which he established at the ECAC Indoor Championships in March.

Freshman Amanda Gower (Washington, Pa./Trinity) claimed seventh place in the highly competitive 400-meter dash with a time of one minute, 1.90 seconds, which is less than seven-tenths of a second behind her personal-record time that she established at the PAC Championships last month.

The men's 4x100-meter relay team of senior Aaron Frye (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area), freshman Dajour Hull (Washington, Pa./Trinty), sophomore Byron Mayers (Brownsville, Pa./Brownsville) and Andre Butler (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) crossed the tape at 43.04 seconds, which is an ECAC-qualifying time.

Butler also qualified for the finals of the 100-meter dash and finished in third place with a time of 11.29 seconds.

The event featured competitors from schools in NCAA Division II, III and the NAIA.
