Butler, Borsch establish school records at Kenyon Last Call

GAMBIER, Ohio (Feb. 18) - Senior Andre Butler (Poolsville, Md./Poolsville) and junior Ashley Borsch (Richmond, Ohio/Edison Local) each broke their own school records, as the Bethany College track & field team competed at the Kenyon College Last Call meet Saturday.

Butler reset his own record in the 60-meter dash, crossing the tape in first place in 7.01 seconds. He also went on to win the 200-meter dash, finishing with a time of 22.47 seconds.

Borsch re-established her record in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in third place with a time of 9.54 seconds.

Sophomore Jordan Hunkins (Zanesville, Ohio/West Muskingum) and freshman Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va./Fishburne Military) led the Bison in the field. Hunkins placed second in the shot put with a throw of 14.28 meters. Meanwhile, Sallah-Mohammad won the long jump with a leap of 6.42 meters, placed third in the triple-jump with a mark of 12.40 meters and finished fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.80 meters.

Also on the track for the men, junior Ed Maxwell (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) established a new personal record in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing sixth with a time of 8.77 seconds, while senior Ryan Donnelly (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) crossed the tape in second place in the five-kilometer run with a time of 16 minutes, 32 seconds.

The Bison men and women will now turn their attention to the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Championships, where the men are the two-time defending champions of the event. Bethany will compete at the PAC Championships on Thursday, February 23 in Youngstown, Ohio at the Watson and Tressel Training Site.
