PAC, ECAC name Butler as Track Athlete of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. (April 5) – Bethany College senior Andre Butler (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) was namedthe Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Region Track Athlete of the Week, announced the organization Wednesday afternoon.

Butler, who was also named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week on Monday, won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.36 seconds and claimed fifth in the 400-meter dash after finishing at 51.27 seconds on the Bison Stadium track at the Bethany Invitational this past Saturday.

A two-time ECAC indoor track athlete of the week, Butler becomes the second member of the men's track and field team to be honored by both the ECAC and the PAC during outdoor season. Freshman Baboucar Sallah-Mohammad was tabbed the ECAC and PAC Field Rookie of the Week last week.

Butler and the rest of the Bison track and field teams return to competition this Saturday when they head to Alliance, Ohio to participate in the Mount Union John Homon Open. A preview and link to live results is available on the schedule page.
