Where Are They Now Series - Jalen Holmes '17, Football
Jalen Holmes '17 is next on our "Alumni Where are They Now" series. Jalen, a dual sport athlete, was a member of the football and track and field teams while at Bethany. He currently holds the Bethany College single-season rushing record with 1,353 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also holds the record for most rushing yards in a game with 341 rushing yards.
Jalen has taken his talents to Arias Agencies where he is a supervisor agent. We caught up with Jalen to talk about his experience as a student-athlete at Bethany College and how athletics brought him to where he is today!
What is your current job title and what does the position entail?
I am a Supervisor Agent at Arias Agencies. It is a financial service industry where we protect unions an association families, businesses and assets with our financial products.
If you can recall, why did you choose to attend Bethany?
To play football and get a great education.
How did your athletic involvement aid in the path that you chose following graduation?
It was awesome and opened up the door for me to get the job I have now, a business athlete.
What would you say were your greatest athletic and academic accomplishments during your time at Bethany?
When I broke the rushing record for the school and conference. Academic wise was when I passed COMPS!
What is your most fond memory of Bethany athletics?
Being with my team as we pushed one another to be better and reach our full potential.
What piece of advice would you have for current Bethany student-athletes?
No matter the situation, keep showing up and staying positive!
What was your favorite non-athletics activity at Bethany?
Being a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity.
