Where Are They Now Series - Bob Niziol '06, Football
Bob Niziol '06 is next on our "Alumni Where are They Now" series. Bob was a member of the Bison football team during his time at Bethany College. After graduation, Bob became a member of the Bison coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant.
We caught up with Bob to talk about his experience as a student-athlete at Bethany and the path he took to be where he is today!
What is your current job title and what does the position entail?
I am a special education teacher at Bentworth School District.
If you can recall, why did you choose to attend Bethany?
I knew I wanted to play football, and I fell in love with the campus, atmosphere, and opportunity at Bethany.
How did your athletic involvement aid in the path that you chose following graduation?
My athletic involvement and relationships afforded me the opportunity to remain at Bethany as a GA and coach football while earning a Master's in Reading from WVU.
What would you say were your greatest athletic and academic accomplishments during your time at Bethany?
Athletic accomplishments, three year starter on the offensive line, senior year all conference accolades (All-PAC Honorable Mention). Academically, a scholar athlete award within the Education department.
What is your most fond memory of Bethany athletics?
The relationships I built with teammates and other athletes. Going to other Bethany sporting contests with other football players and supporting the other athletes in their season.
What piece of advice would you have for current Bethany student-athletes?
Enjoy the time you have on campus and the relationships you have the opportunity to make.
What was your favorite non-athletics activity at Bethany?
Hanging out with friends. Occasionally going to Bubbas or on food runs off campus. I did enjoy some of the events the SAC events, comedians and sibling's weekends.
