Barth to Attend NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Bethany College football intern coach Drew Barth has been selected to participate in the 2021 NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar (ELS).

Typically held at the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, the 2021 seminar will be executed virtually Feb. 3-5. The ELS is an annual professional development event that provides effective leadership, educational and transitional programing to current graduate assistants and interns from NCAA membership institutions, conference offices and affiliate organizations. The three-day virtual program educates, develops and connects selected participants and equips attending young professionals with the skills necessary to accelerate their career progression in college sports.

"We are very proud that Drew is representing Bethany College on a national level," stated Director of Athletics Steve Thompson.  "I have been fortunate to watch Drew grow as a student-athlete at Eureka College and then as a member of our football coaching staff here at Bethany."

Barth enters his first season with the Bison. Prior to Bethany, Barth was a key member for the Eureka College Red Devils. The former Red Devils quarterback ranks second on Eureka's modern-era list with a .594 completion percentage among players with at least 100 career pass attempts. Barth finished his career second in program history in career completions (434) and touchdowns (53) and was third in passing yards (5,508).

"We are very proud that Drew will be representing our football program at a national level," added head football coach Bill Garvey. "As a former college football quarterback he naturally has leadership qualities and this program will improve and enhance his skills and benefit our program immediately and Drew in the future as he moves on throughout his career."

The Minonk, Illinois native, was a two-time All-NACC performer. He graduated from Eureka College with his bachelor's in Business Administration.
